seruyng ‖An act gainst them that obeied not Gods worde. Aſa it was enacted that whosoeuer wolde not ſeke the Lord God of Iſrael, ſhulde be ſlayne, whether he were ſmale or great, man or woman. And for the eſtabliſhing hereof and performance of this ſolemne othe, aſwel ‖2 Chro.17.7.& 19.5 What policie muſt be vſed for the plating of religió. Therefore the Lord, who is the chefe gouernour of his Church, willeth that nothing be attempted before we haue inquired thereof at his mouth. For ſeing he is our God, of duetie we muſt giue him this preeminence, that of our ſelues we entrepriſe nothing, but that whiche he hath appointed, who only knoweth all things, and gouerneth them as may beſt ſerue to his glorie and our ſaluation. Now as concerning the maner of this building, it is not according to man, nor after the wiſdome of the fleſh, but of the Spirit, & according to the worde of God, whoſe ‖The maner of building is as God hathe preſcribed by his worde.
