"As the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater; so shall my word be that goeth forth of my mouth. It shall not return unto me void; but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper whereto I sent it." Isa. lv. 10, 11. "Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed; but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded." Prov. xiii. 13. "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." Ps. cxix. 105. "The commandment is a lamp, and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life." Prov. vi. 23. "He that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the Lord. Is not my word like as a fire? saith the Lord; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?" Jer. xxiii. 28, 29.
