I join hereto a Greenland Song,Model of a Greenland Song. or Ode, compoſed by one of the Natives, who formerly lived in our Colony, by Name Friderick Chriſtian, upon the Birth-Day of his then Royal Highneſs, Prince Chriſtian, on the 30th of November, 1729, and is as follows.
Amna aja aja, aja aja, &c.] Entry.
One Morning as I went out, and ſaw,
Annigamma irſigeik, amna aja aja, &c.
That Flags and Colours were flying;
Arvallirſullitlarmeta: Amna aja, &c.
And that they made ready,
Opellungarſullarmeta, amna aja, &c.
To fire the Guns;
Erkaiſeigamig og, amna aja aja, &c.
Then I demanded,
Tava orkarbigeik, amna aja aja, &c.
Why do you fire?
Saag erkaiſoviſe? Amna aja, &c.
And they anſwered me, becauſe the King's Son's
Tava akkyanga, aſſuog Nellermago,
Birth-Day was celebrated,
Okuine annivine nellermago, amna aja, &c.
