Fourcheu. as Fourchu. Fourcheure: f. A forkinesse, or forkednesse; a fork-like diuision, or cleauing; also, that part of the bodie from whence the thighes doe part; (I thinke we call it the Twist.) Fourcheure d'un arbre. The twist of a tree; the top of the bodie, where it begins to be diuided by the maine branches.
Fourchier: m. A cord vntwisted in the middest, and (a stone being put thereinto) vsed as a sling. Fourchier à trois dents. (A triple-toothed forke) a Trout-speare, or Eele-speare.

Halfe-hoofed, or clouen-footed beasts; as Neate, Sheepe, Swyne, &c. L'Impost du pied fourchu. The toll that is payed in Fayres, or Markets, vpon the sale of any of those kind of cattell.

One filthie knaue matcht with another. La paelle se mocque du fourgon: Prov. The Peele derides the Ouen-forke; one slouen, or neighbor another.
Fourgonner. To put fuell into an Ouen; also, (and the more properly) to tosse, or stirre it (being on fire) in the Ouen, with a Fruggin. Que fourgonnes tu la? What a stirre, what a rumbling, what a puddering, keepest thou there?
Fourgonneur: m. An Ouen-tender, or Ouen-stirrer; one that lookes to an Ouen, with a Fruggin, or forke, in his hand.
Fourmage: m. Cheese. Fourmage de Bans. A cheese made of Goats milke, or as the Angelot. Fourmage de Betune. A kind of cheese made of Sheepes milke. Fourmage de Loüans. A kind of hard cheese, made at a village of that name. Fourmage est bon quand il y en a peu: Prov. The lesse cheese the better; or, cheese is good when a miserable hand giues it; according whereunto they say also, Tout fourmage est bien sain qui vient de chiche main. Fourmage de taupe, & pain d'Argus: Pro. Heauie cheese, and light bread (are, commonly, the best.) Nul ne pele son fourmage qui n'y ait honte, ou dommage: Prov. No man pares his cheese without shame, or losse. Qui a fourmage pour tous mets, il le doit couper bien espez: Prov. He must not scant his cheese that hath nought else to feed on.
