When used as an auxiliary, an abbreviated form is given to the third person singular, and to the first and second persons plural. Thus—

eŭ am arat, ‘I have ploughed.’ noĭ am arat (not avem arat).
tu aĭ arat, voĭ aṭĭ arat (not avetĭ arat).
el or ea a arat (not are arat). eĭ aŭ arat.

Imperfect (Imperfect).

eŭ avém, ‘I had’ (j’avais). noĭ avém,
tu avéĭ, voĭ avéṭĭ,
el avea, eĭ avéŭ.

Simple Perfect (Perfectual Simplu).

eŭ avuĭ, ‘I had’ (j’eus). noĭ avurăm,
tu avuṣĭ, voĭ avurăṭĭ,
el avu, eĭ avu.

Simple Pluperfect (Plusquam Perfectul Simplu).

eŭ avussem, ‘I had had.’ noĭ avussem,
tu avusseṣĭ, voĭ avusseṭĭ,
el avusse, eĭ avusse.

Perfect (Perfect).

eŭ am avut, ‘I have had.’ noĭ am avut,
tu aĭ avut, voĭ aṭĭ avut,
el a avut, eĭ aŭ avut.

Pluperfect (Plusquam Perfect).

eŭ am fost avut, ‘I had had.’ noĭ am fost avut,
