Or, if we plot the weights of the aerodones investigated on a logarithmic scale (Fig. 74), the range from one half ton to two tons, such as probably constitutes the range of sizes of the flying machine of the more immediate future, is as represented. In such a logarithmic scale equal increments represent equal degrees of proportion, hence Fig. 74 represents graphically the relation of the range of the experimental verification, to the range with which the engineer is more immediately concerned in the problem of mechanical flight.
