Il6 WHO SAILS WITH THE SHIP?

WHO SAILS WITH THE SHIP?

MY shadow-craft is waiting, Its sails are full and white; My ship will soon go sailing Go sailing out of sight.

And who, think you, go hither ?

What cargo, rich and rare, Lies underneath her hatches ?

What crew go hence, and" where ?

Well, all the ugly people Well known to you and me

(I do forgive them truly, But if they went to sea,

And in the Southern Ocean, Or nearing bright Cathay,

My phantom ship should founder, Its crew be cast away,

Why, there they might be happy, And so would you and I) ;

And if she were not spoken Would anybody cry?

All miserly curmudgeons,

All lovers false and fair ; All parasites and idlers I ve met with here and there;
