All Souls' Coll., matric. 20 May, 1636, aged 17; postmaster of Merton College, born in Warwick 20 May, 1619, 'a most notorious sectarist,' author of 'A Fiery Flying Roll,' 1649, imprisoned at Coventry and removed to Newgate, all the copies of his book which could be found were ordered by parliament to be burnt by the common hangman, 'afterwards, the name of Coppe being odious, he did, upon the king's restoration, change it to Higham, and practiced physic at Barn Elms, in Surrey,' went by the name of Dr. Higham, and died there in 1672, and was buried in that church 23 Aug.
