Newport, Richard, born at High Ercall, Salop, s. Francis, baronis. Christ Church, matric. 28 June, 1661, aged 16; created M.A. 12 Sept., 1661; 2nd earl of Bradford; M.P. Salop in 7 parliaments (Nov.) 1670-81 and 1689-98; died 14 June, 1723; brother of the next. See Foster's Parliamentary Dictionary.
