Primrose, David, M.A. of Bordeaux University; incorporated 27 Jan., 1623-4, B.D. from Exeter Coll. 24 April, 1624, incorporated at Cambridge 1624 (2s. Gilbert), born in France, minister of the Protestant Church at Rouen in Normandy (1642); brother of James. See Ath. iii. 54.

Primrose, Gilbert, M.A. St. Andrew's University; incorporated 18 Jan., 1624-5, created D.D. same day (D.Med. 1628) — (s. Gilbert, principal surgeon to James VI. of Scotland and to Queen Anne), one of the French preachers of the Protestant Church in Bordeaux, and of the French Church in London, chaplain to James VI. and Charles I., canon of Windsor 1628, until his death Oct., or Nov., 1642; father of James next named, and of David last named.
