Middle Temple, 1755, a curator of the British Museum, under-secretary War department 1756, clerk House of Commons 1762-8, died 15 August. 1786, annotator of Chaucer and Shakespeare. Okehampton 1796-1802, Portarlington 1802-6, and Plymouth 1806-12, knighted 8 May, 1812, gentleman usher of the black rod, and ranger of the Home Park, Windsor, 1812-32, died 24 Feb., 1833.
