distant from Nezan, which was their native place and home. Clauda Jamprost, Clauda Janguillaume and Jacquema Paget of Orcieres also went on foot to the Sabbat in the field of Longchamois, about a quarter of a league from Orcieres. Groz-Jacques went by the same means to a Sabbat at Longchamois and another at a place called és Combes, near Coirieres, where also Pierre Vuillermoz of Aranthon, the brothers Claude Charloz, and Perrenette Molard went in like manner on foot. Pierre Vuillermoz added that, to get there, he had to pass a little stream. Jeanne Platet and Clauda Paget went to a place called au Mont; and I have read that many other places have thus been reached on foot. But there is no doubt that these witches were sometimes carried by the Devil to the Sabbat, as were those of whom we spoke in the last chapter; for they have themselves confessed it.
