Shipfitter Shop: 1 steel bending brake 3/8" capacity, 1 power rolls 1/2", 1 No. 1 Buffalo Iron worker, 2 CO2 compressors, 1 Turret punch heavy duty 36" throat, 1 Power saw.
Sheet Metal Shop: 1 Box brake 60" Pattern Shop: 1 Circle saw 14" throat Blacksmith: 1 400 lb. forging hammer. Carpenter Shop: 1 Plainer, 24", 1 Table saw, 14" Electrical Shop: 1 Small coil winding machine, up to about 4" complete 250 volt 40 cycle single phase, 1 Vacuum cleaner type hot air blowers. 115 volt DC, 1 Ventilation blowers, portable 115 volt DC, 1 Commutator stones, 1 set. Machine Shop: Surface grinder, Cylindrical grinder, Gear calipers, Bevel gear cutter, complete set. Optical Shop: High pressure gauge tester 5000 lbs, Optic-filming outfit and trained operator, Crane capable of lifting periscopes. Radio and Sound: Rider channolyst, complete set of rider manuals, 2 sets Woston O.E. analyzer, 1 - 5" Oscilloscope, Radar test equipment (supplied to all tenders by W.E.) Photo Shop: Bluepring dryer. In addition to the above deficiencies in equipment this unit also lacks a decompression chamber and an attach teacher unit which are ordinarily available on a tender.This unit can refit simultaneously a maximum of four submarines returned from War Patrol. However, the normal load is three submarines. An average of 32 officers and 575 enlisted men are assigned to this Unit. SECRET. |
