Investigation and Taking of Depositions

The Civil Aeronautics Board was notified of the accident very shortly after occurrence. Board investigators were immediately dispatched to the crash site. Thereafter, an investigation was initiated and conducted in accordance with the provisions of Title Vil of the Federal Aviation Act of 1958 In connection with the Board's investigation of the accident depositions were taken at Morristown, New Jersey, on July 27, 1959, at Chicago, Illinois, on August 6, 1959, and at Marion, Ohio, on August 7, 1959.
