The Archdeacon reached the Sloane Street Safe Deposit at about a quarter before midday. At ten minutes to the hour Mr. Turton made his appearance in the waiting-room. While he was introducing himself to the Archdeacon (whom he knew by his gaiters) Sir John Dubbs manifested himself with his press agent, Mr. Filting.
