The following is a programme for Thanksgiving week:—

Monday—wash,
Tuesday—scour,
Wednesday—bake,
Thursday—devour.

In a game of tag, it is the proper thing to shout out to the one in chase:—

Fire on the mountain,
Fire on the sea,
You can’t catch me.

A variation:—

Fire on the mountain,
Run, boys, run;
The cat’s in the cream-pot,
Run, girls, run!

A quick way of counting up to one hundred:—

Ten, ten, double ten, forty-five, fifteen.
