In certain cases, such as laces or translucent plastics, the material may contain neither a selvage nor a reverse side on which the notice can be applied. Here a gummed or sewn label bearing the notice and made to adhere firmly to the material at frequent and regular intervals may be considered.

In determining whether the notice is repeated frequently and regularly enough, the most important factor is the size of the unit in which the consumer ordinarily buys the goods. Thus, if the material is usually sold by the yard, deposit copies which are one yard long and which show one or more notices may be accepted.

In motion pictures. The Office will recommend that the notice in a motion picture appear on or near the title frame. However, a notice appearing either in the opening frames or at the end of a motion picture is acceptable.
