Box 370), wants to establish his record as a Con- federate soldier so as to receive a pen- sion. He enlisted with the 1st and 7th Alabama Volunteers from Decatur, Ala., under Hatchel Cochran and Forrest, and after eighteen months he went with the 1st Tennessee Scouts, under Captain Shaw. He was a companion of Sam Davis, whom he had known before the war, being in the same military school. Any assistance in getting a pension will be appreciated.
