CROWNINSHIELD, FREDERIC, born in Boston, Mass.; contemporary. Figure painter; pupil of Rowbotham in London, Benouville in Rome, and of Cabanel, Couture, and the École des Beaux Arts in Paris. Exhibited his first picture, a portrait group, in the Paris Salon of 1878. Studio in Boston.
