ABSTRACT The text for English as a second language is designed to help Peace Corps volunteers and Korean teachers of English improve English language instruction in South Korea. It is not a complete course, but a review of basic English grammar for use in classroom communication, designed as a basis for curriculum and materials development. Topics covered in the units include the environment, contemporary living, careers, health, adventure and travel, and interpersonal communication. Each unit contains a reading selection, notes on grammatical points, sample conversational exchanges, songs or quotations, and writing exercises. (MSE)
