WiLLiAiM held this dignity about 1128^^ and 1135. GiRALDUs, (supposed to be the same person as Giraldus
Cambrensis,) about 1185^3. PoNTTUs occurs in 1180, 1 198 and 1203. Hugh de Cluna, anno 1222. He died about 1234, in
the time of bishop Ansehii. Jordan de Trismont or Tribus Montibus, occurs
archdeacon on the Nones of October^ 1235.
A occurs anno 1239.
Richard, anno 1254, 1259 and 1263. Peter de Quivil was from this dignity anno 1280 pre- ferred to be bishop of Exeter. In the same year he
was succeeded by Robert de HAVEiiFORD, treasurer of Si. David's. He
held the office in 1280 and 1297. John, sometimes called Jordan, was archdeacon in 1305
and 1307 ; in which year ho was sent to king Edward
the First's parliament held at Carlisle. Philip held it in 13 19. Henry de Gower, LL.D., occurs in 1323. He was
from this dignity promoted to the bishopric of St.
David's. David Fraunceys occurs archdeacon in 1328, iii Non.
(3rd) Feb. anno 1332, and in 1334. Philip de Caunton or Griffin de Taunton occurs
in 1334. John Francoys, vi Cal. Jun. (27th May) 1342 and in
1345. He probably came to the office in 1339. John Faukes held it in 1347. John Gough, appointed 20th March 1349^0. Adam de Rokeleyn was appointed i7tliFeb. 1363-4.
