A license to elect a bishop in the room of Edmund Gheast, translated to Salisbury, is dated 1 ith Feb. 1571-2"; in pursuance of which, 1572 Edmund Preai or Feeake, S.T.I'., dean 0/ Rochester, 14 eh*, wa- elected [6th Feb. 1571-2, and obtained the royal assent to his election on the z8th of the same month 1 ; he was confirmed 3rd May, consecrated at Lambeth on the ytli of the same month . and obtained restitu- tion of the temporalities 10th April 3 . He was elected to Norwich 31st July 1 575. A conge' d'elire, vice bi- shop Freke, issued 6th April 1 576 \ and 1576 John Piekse, S.T.P., dean of Christ Ckurch, Oxford, 18 Eliz. was elected ~th April (576'; the royal assent to his flection was given on the 1 2th' 1 . he was confirmed on the 14th of th' same month, and consecrated at Lam- beth the next day 7. W as nominated by the Queen 3 i.-t Jan. 1 - 77-8, elected by the chapter 1 Sth Feb., confirmed 15th March, and consecrated at Lambeth the next day'. He died 10th April 1605, setat. 71, and was buried at Bromley in Kent. His will is in the Prerogative Office of Can- terbury ".
