Gilks de Bridpob 1 . <lean of Welle, was archdeacon of Berks in 1255. In the year following he was made bishop of this see.
Simon de Bbidpobt, archdeacon of Dorset, was arch- deacon of Berks in 1262 1J .
Walteb Scammi i. occurs in 1267 11 . He was after- wards treasurer, precentor, clean and bishop of this church.
Thomas Bkk was archdeacon here circa I28o 15 .
William de Bebges was possessed of this dignity xvi Gal. Decembr. (16th Nov.) 1287 '". He had the King's letters of protection 28th Sept. 1294^. He sent William do Bukkestanes as his proxy to a par- liament held at Carlisle in 1307 18 .
Richabd de Bello was collated vi Id. Mar. (10th) 13 1 2 : void by the death of W. de Berges 1 '.
Tydo de Vakesio, archdeacon of Berks, had letters of protection, being beyond sea, in 1314-".
Gilbert de Stapletox had the archdeaconry of Berk- shire granted to him by the King 14th Sept. 1317 21 .
Robert de Aylleston was collated xii Cal. Sept. (21st Aug.) 1331 : void by the death of T. de Vare- sio--. He was confirmed by letters patent 16th Oct.
