William Saxcroft, S.T.P., dean of York and pre- bendary of Oxgate, was elected to this deanery nth Nov. 1664, installed icth Dec. following, and in 1677-8 was made archbishop of Canterbury.
Edward'Stillinoi i.i.i.t, S.T.P., prebendary of New- ington, was elected 16th Jan. 1677-8, installed on the 19th of the same month, and in Oct. 1689 was made bishop of Worcester.
John Tillotson, S.T.P., dean of Canterbury, was elected ^to this deanery 19th Nov. 1689, installed the 21st of the same month, and infMay 169] was made archbishop of < lanterbury.

Francis Hare was elected .lean 26th Oct. 17:6, and installed on the 31st <>f the same month. He was made bishop of St. Asaph in 1727. and held this deanery in commendam. He was translated to Chi- chester in 1751. and still heldjthis deanery uutil his death 26th April 1 740.
