Giles de Fylol, prebendary e/Mapesbury, was arch- deacon of Colchester in 1286 6 *. Ho died in 1298' . Richard uk Newport is once mentioned in an old

Cartulary, 31 Edw. I., 1302, by the title of archdeacon of Colchester. He was archdeacon of Middlesex in 1304, dean of this church in 13 14, and bishop <>t' the sec in 13 1 7.

John de Chishul, prebendary of Mora ; the time of his admission to this archdeaconry or voidance of it does not appear, but he held the office in 1310.

William hi Mki.i.i oi;i>. /-/ h, ndnry of M<;/, in all probability succeeded Chishul. He was archdeacon of Colchester in 1312, 1319, 1328, and 133 1 '". He died in 1 J )6.

William de Stow, prebendary of Portpoole, was pre- sented iii Non. Mar. (5th) 13367 to this dignity on the death of Meleford *.

Richard de Plessis or Plessetis, prebendary of Measde/i, was archdeacon of Colchester in 1342: ho voided it before iii Id. Apr. (1 ith) 1363.

Michael de Northburg, afterwards prebendary of Browneswode, was presented by the King, in the va- cancy of the see, iii Id. Apr. (joth) 1363". He re- signed it in 1373.

Richard de Piritox was collated vi Cal. Oct. (26th Sept.) 1373 : void by the resignation of Northburg? 1 . He died 26th Aug. 1387, and was buried in St. Paul's cathedral.

John de Carleton, prebendary of Bromesbury, seems to have succeeded Piriton in this archdeaconry, but the time of his admission does not appear. He voided it before 3rd Nov. 1398 " 2 .
