This prebend was united to and consolidated with the chancellorship of this cathedral in July 148^ ; since which time it has ever been held by the chancellors of this church. MASHAM OR MASSAM. Roger de Albany held it about 1258. Roger de Clare held it about 1287. John de Grandison succeeded about 1309. William de Ayremynne was appointed by the King in 1315^^. He became bishop of Norwich. Richard de Ayremynne was appointed by the King in 1321^3. G. DE Saluciis, appointed by the King in 1333^"^. John de Ufford held it in 1340. He became arch- bishop of Canterbury. Reginald Brian succeeded in 1348. He became bishop of St. David's. Andrew de Offord. His appointment was ratified by the King 14th May 1350^'. He was also archdeacon of Middlesex.
