One of the three original prebends : endowed with the third part of the great tithes of Southwell, and with half of the great tithes and certain temporals in Nor well. Stephen de Ferentino_, nephew of Stephen "Basilicse XII Apostolorum Presbyteri Cardinalis/' held this prebend before 1234^^. Johannes Clericus, son of Odo brother of the said Stephen, collated 21st July 1234, upon the resigna- tion of Stephen de Ferentino^^. John Clarell, the King's c^er^, held it in 1256 and 3rd April 1293^^. Elyas de Couton, collated 5th May 1293, upon the death of John Clarell ^7. Is said to have held it about thirty years, and to have died in 1329^^. John de Thoresby held it in 1329^^. William de Northwell, appointed by the King 13th Sept. 1333, vice Elyas de Couton deceased ^^, held it in 133721. John de Northwell, appointed by the King 2nd May 1340-22: collated 21st Sept. 1340, upon the resigna- tion of WiUiam de Northwell ^ William de Northwell, collated 23rd March 1353, upon the resignation of John de Northwell-^: held it until about 1370--^.
