He resigned the provostship 17th June 1550 and died 8th July following. John Smith, M.A. and S.T.B., was elected 17th June 1550. He resigned 2nd March 1564. Roger Marbeck, M.A._, student of Christ Churchy and public orator of the university, was substituted 3rd March 1564. He resigned 24th June 1566. John Belly, LL.D., was elected 25th June 1566. He resigned 3rd Feb. 1572. Anthony Blincowe, M.A., (afterwards Jur. Civ. Dr.) was substituted 4th Feb. 1572. He died in Jan. 1617, and was buried in St. Mary's. He held the office I Jac. T.79 William Lewis, M.A. , succeeded 21st Feb. 1617. He resigned 29th June 1621. John Tolson, S.T.B., was elected the same day his predecessor resigned, viz. 29th June 1621.
