Owen Oglethorpe, S.T.P., was a second time elected 31st Oct. 1553, and resigned 7th April 1555. Bishop of Carlisle in 1557^'^. Arthur Cole, S.T.B., canon of Windsor and fellow of Eton^ was elected president 22nd April 1555. He died 18th July 1558, and was buried in the chapel"^. Thomas Coveney, M.A. and M.B., was elected 2nd Aug. 1558. He was deprived 25th Sept. 1561 for not being in orders. Lawrence Humphrey, M.A., afterwards S.T.P., regius professor of Divinity^ was elected i ith Dec. 1561. He became dean of Winchester in 1580, died ist Feb. 1588-9, 88 tat. 6'^^ and was buried in the college chapel. Nicholas Bond, S.T.P., was admitted 5th April 1590. John Harding, S.T.P., was elected 22nd Feb. 1607, and died in 1610. William Langton, S.T.P., succeeded i9thNov. 1610. He died loth Oct. 1626, setat. 54, and was buried in the chapel. Accepted Frewen, S.T.B., succeeded 24th Oct. 1626. Bishop of Coventry and Lichfield in 1644 ; archbishop of York in 1660. John Oliver, S.T.P., succeeded 24th May 1644. He was ejected by the Parliament delegates in 1648. John Wilkinson, S.T.P., principal of Magdalen hall, was substituted by the same authority that ejected his predecessor, 29th Feb. J647— 8. He died 2nd Jan. 1649-50, and was buried in the church of Great Milton in Oxfordshire. Thomas Goodwyn, M.A.. was made president by Oliver Cromwell in the latter end of the year 1649.
