He was ordained deacon by the Pope at Viterbo 4th April, priest on the i8th of the same month, and consecrated 3rd May*'^. He died 12th Feb.i 265—6, and was buried in Worcester cathedral. The conge d'elire, vice bishop Cantilupe, bears date 2i8t Feb. 1265-6^-^. 1266 Nicholas, archdeacon of Ely ^ obtained the royal assent 5ollcn.lll. to his election 8th June I266'^-^ and the temporalities were restored to him on the 18th of the same month"*. He was consecrated on the Sunday before Michael- mas^'^ (26th Sept.); and on 24th Fob. i 267—8, he was translated to Winchester. 1268 Godfrey Giffard, archdeacon of Wells and chancellor 5-Hen.Ili. of England, succeeded bishop Nicholas, and received the temporalities of the see 13th June 1268^^; he was enthroned 25th Dec. following. Ho died 26th Jan. 1301-2^7^ and was buried 4th Feb. in Worcester cathedral**^.
