He re- moved the see from Dorchester to Winchester about the year 6781% and died in 705^3. At his death the bishopric of the West Saxons was again divided into two sees^^, one was placed at Sherborne and the other at WINCHESTER. 705 Daniel was the first bishop of Winchester, and was consecrated in 705^^.
