Left Boulder on interurban car at 6 a.m. for the Perry Park region . Bright warm morning, with a few flying clouds. Reached Oxford Hotel at 8 a.m., had breakfast, then met A Dakan and J. M. Downen (?). Took 9 a.m. D. and R.G. train for Larkspur . At mouth of Platte canyon Cretaceous formations dip E about 70˚ (estimated from distance). Denver beds horizontal capped by lava ((later crossed out)) which has been quarried near Sedalia and castle Rock on both side of the track. Reached Larkspur about 11:15, changed clothes in the quarters of a resident, got dinner at a boarding house. In Stone Gulch , W of Larkspur , found conglomerate in contact with friable, strongly feldspathic granite forming an even floor. There are two or more very sharp
