My dear Sir,
I am greatly flattered by your kind letter and the offer contained in them. I am at present, unfortunately, not able to undertake any additional work as my plans for some time are made; but I should be greatly interested to see any stories of Indian life that you might care to show me. Please be good enough to keep them to a length of under five thousand (5000) words. It would be quite possible for us to have your stories slightly touched upon if they are not altogether in our vein.
With renewed thanks,
I am, dear Sir, Max Pemberton
