ArneiU, James Rae, physician, author, was born March 6, 1869, in Depere, Wis. Since 1903 he has been a practicing physician of Denver, Col.; and since 1904 has been professor of medicine at the university of Colorado. He is the author of Clinical Diagnosis and Uranalysis.

David Reeve, physician, was born N.Y. He was an eminent physician of Prospect Hill and Goshen, N. Y. He was president of the Orange county medical society; and in 1820 delivered an address before that body which resulted in the Arnell,

erection of a monument to the memory of forty-five men of the Goshen' regiment who were killed at the battle of Minisinck in 1779. He died Sept. 2, 1826, in Goshen, N.Y. Arnell, David Reeve, educator, author, was born about 1830 in Goshen, N.Y. He taught classics in the south. He was the author of a Christmas Story; and a volume of poems entitled Fruit of Western Life. He died about 1852 in Columbus, Ohio.

He received his education in private schools and at Amherst college, Mass. In 1859 he went into the business of manufacturing leather; in 1861 took an active interest in the civil war; and suffered in person and property from the confederate army. He was elected to the Tennessee state legislature; and advocated the passage of the constitutional amendment in 1865. In 1865-71 he was a representative from Tennessee to the thirty-ninth, fortieth and forty-first congresses. He is the corresponding secretary of Washington county his;

torical society.

Arnett, Benjamin William, clergyman, bishauthor, was born March 6, 1838, in Brownsville, Pa. He was chosen bishop in 1888 to the episcopal' district of South Carolina and Florida. He was the author of The Light Along the Jordan and Fifty Years in the Field. He died Oct. 7, 1906, in Xenia, Ohio. Arnold, Aaron, merchant, was born 1794 on the Isle of Wright. Abraham Kerns,

soldier, was born Bedford, Pa. In 1862 he was brevetted captain for gallantry at Gaines' Mill; major in 1864 for gallantry at Todd's Tavern; and received a congressional medal of honor for gallantry in action. He served against the Indians on the frontier; was commissioned brigadier-general United States volunteers in 1898 ; and in 1899 commanded the second division seventh army corps in Cuba. He died Nov. 23, 1901. Arnold, Albert Nicholas, clergyman, educator, author, was born Feb. 12, 1814, in Cranston, R.I. In 1844-54 he was a missionary to Greene. He held professorships in several baptist seminaries successively. He was the author of Pre-requisites to Communion; Evils of Infant Baptism; and One Woman's Mission.
