Bright, Jesse D., jurist, state senator, lieutenant, governor, United States senator, was bom Dec. 18, 1812, in Norwich, N.Y. He was circuit judge of Indiana; was a state senator; was marshal of the United States for the district of Indiana; and lieutenant-governor of that state. In 1845-63
he was United States senator from Indiana; and president of the United States senate during several sessions. He subsequently settled in Kentucky; and was elected to the state senate. He died May 20, 1875, in Baltimore, Md. Bright, John Morgan, lawyer, congressman, was born Jan. 20, 1817, in Fayettepublic ville, Tenn. Bright, Albert Jesse, soldier, was bom in Tennessee. In 1898-99 he served as first lieutenant in the first regiment Tennessee volunteer infantry; and served in the Spanish-American war. In 1899-1901 he was first lieutenant in the thirty-seventh United States volunteer infantry; and in 1901 became second lieutenant in the thirteeth regiment; and was subsequently first lieutenant in the second regiment United States infantry. Bright, Jonathan Brown, genealogist, auphilanthropist, was born April 23, 1800, in Waltham, Mass. He made many researches into his family history both here thor,

in England, and published h, volume of genealogy, which has been pronounced a model for works of its kind. It is entitled The Brights of Suffolk, England, represented in America by the Descendants of Henry Bright, Jr., who settled at Watertown, Mass., about 1630. He left to Harvard college fifty thousand dollars, the income to be divided between the purchase of books and the support of scholarships, to which Brights lineally descended from Henry Bright, Jr., should have priority of claim. He died Dec. 17, 1879, in Waltham, Mass.
