1870-73 he was assistant United States attorney; and for twenty years was general counsel for the original lessee of the Western and Atlantic railroad. For a number of years he was president of the Georgia mining,
manufacturing and investment company; and is now master in chancery in the United States circuit court. He is a thirty-two degree mason past grand commander of the grand commandry of Georgia knights templar; and past vice-presideiit of the grand high priesthood of Georgia.
