In 1857-68 he was city attorney of Elizabeth, N.J.; was surrogate of Union county in 1863-67; and was presiding judge of Union county court of common pleas in 1868-73. He was a delegate to the democratic national conventions of 1860 a.nd 1880; and in 1885-87 he was a representative from New Jersey to the forty-ninth congress as a democrat. Green, Samuel, printer, was born in 1615 in England. He was one of the first printers in New England, being the successor of Stephen Dave. He printed the Cambridge Platform in 1649; and a revised edition In 1658 he was of the Psalms in 1650. granted by act of legislature, three hundred acres of land, where it is to be found. It was subsequently laid out for him in Haverhill. In 1655 a second press arrived from England; and in 1659 he printed a version In of the Psalms in the Indian tongue. 1661 the New Testament was issued; and in 1663 the entire Old and New Testament. born March 19, 1817, in Rochester, N.Y. He was a noted pisciculturist; and in 1870-88 superintendent of the New York fish commission. He was the author of Trout Culture; Home Fishing and Home Waters; and Fish Hatching and Pish Catching. He died Aug. 30, 1888, in Rochester, N.Y. Green, T. P., naval officer. He attained the rank of rear-admiral in the United States navy. He died on Aug. 30, 1887 in Jaffrey, N.H. Green, Thomas, governor, was born in England. He was one of the Roman catholic pilgrims that accompanied Leonard Calvert to Maryland in 1634; was appointed privy councillor in 1639; and governor in 1637. He died in Maryland.
