FOR a general good, and for the increaſe of knowledge and for underſtanding in reading the Bible, I have been at ſome pains and trouble examining ſeveral Dictionaries for the finding (illegible text)t the true value of the Coins and Money mentioned in the Bible. And alſo the Weights and Meaſures. And what the Shekels are, of which there are three ſorts; the Common, the Kings, and of the Sanctuary, ſo likewiſe there are three ſorts of Talents, the Common, the Kings, and of the Sanctuary; which I have caſt up both in Gold, Silver and Weight: And how much (illegible text)ch is, according to the current Engliſh Money, from one to three hundred and fifty thouſand Talents, in plain words. And alſo of the pieces of Silver, Silverings, Pence: And in what Chapter or Chapters, Verſe or Verſes any of them are to be found. And alſo the Meaſures, how much a(illegible text) of them is of Engliſh. Alſo in this Edition, I have added the Money, Weights, Meaſures, mentioned in the Apocrypha, which word ſignifies of no Authority, or hidden, or doubtful. The Bible before the Apocrypha) is called Canonical, which signifies approved by common Conſent, or ex(illegible text) Rule. Which Diviſion was made about Four hundred years after Chriſt, there being aſſembled four hundred Biſhops of Carthage in Africa,
