Stanza I.
I invoke the help of that Glorious Light which represents the sum total of the knowledge of Brahmopanishads who we call Saraswathi, the exalted spouse of Brahma, who holds the Veena (lute), and who is most beautiful (all perfect)
NOTES.
No author in the sanscrit language commences his work without first praying to his God and invoking the help of all that is dear to him. This is generally considered necessary for the completion of the work, and also for the good of the students who commence to read it. This is a small work written by Venkatasa Pundita son of Yagnaswara Dikshitar and though short it is excellently written by him. The author expounds some of the best principles of astrology in the most concise manner possible.
