was punished with death, both of the person who showed it and the person to whom it was shown.[1]

Ceremonies at Encounter Bay

The initiation ceremonies at Encounter Bay are briefly described by H. E. A. Meyer.[2] They appear to be nearly the same as those of the Narrinyeri, whose country, according to
