ATTIE had been a week sheltered and cared for by the humane young couple at Sibley's Corner, when one evening the husband came in from the saw-mill, with a beaming face. The baby was perched on the foot of the bed where the sick girl lay; and the young mother sat near, at her sewing.
"What is it, Robert?" she asked, looking up in her husband's face; "you seem to have some news of a pleasant character."
