is the fact, it is because first-rate batsmen are not hit by the ball on the legs at all, but use the proper weapon—the bat. If this result is brought about it will be most beneficial to the game, but more reforms will be wanted to ensure a fair equality between batting and bowling, between attack and defence. Such reforms will be referred to in another chapter.
