The crosses represent the points reached in our ascent of the Peaks yesterday, the most perfect day imaginable. Fremont was my objective point; Dr. Slipher wished to leave a maximum and a minimum thermometer on Agassiz, which he did. Fremont was cozily hospitable as a Pieris occidentalis, and I both found. We had quite an interchange of views, both inspecting the other. On the E. (crater) slope of Agassiz I found Jumper communis. Thus I was doubly rewarded.
