BLACK

VELVET

CARACO .

BY EMILY H. MAY. THE pattern in this number is that of a black velvet Caraco. In the pattern , we have rounded the corners of front, many ladies preferring them thus, to being left square, and it is much easier to leave them square, than to round them gracefully. In the Costume, the sleeve is the wide pagoda, but we consider the sleeve shaped at the elbow will be more useful, as it is likely to be a favorite style of sleeve, both for dresses and jackets during the present season. This Caraco may be trimmed in various ways, either braided, embroidered, or en application, the same as that in our engraving.
