AMONG the novelties of the month is a Pannier Mantilla, au engraving of which we give above. It will be quite a fashionable article of dress ; and it is so simple that any lady can make it for herself. It would be quite suitable for young ladies made in book muslin, with hemmed frills, edged with narrow thread lace ' 144
and goffered. It may be made of the material of the dress, in black lace, or in the most useful of all materials, black silk. Of silk, twenty-four inches in width, four yards and a half would be needed, and sixteen yards of black satin rouleau. On the next page we give a diagram, from which it may be cut out.
