And through the varied scenes of life,
That flower doth never fade,
But lives 'mid earthly joys and ills,
In sunshine and in shade.

It springs spontaneous in each soul,

Though sad the parting be,
Yet none would ever yield the hope
Of Immortality.

When life with thee was bright,

Free from deception's art.
