Sustaining strength impartsIn sorrow's hour.
Through every scene of lifeHis guardian care extends,Nor with this fleeting breathHis kindness ends.
For when the fluttering pulseAnd closing eye,In the last mortal hour,Call man to die,
If in this lower sphereHe has performed his part,Fulfilled his Maker's willWith single heart,
He bears his spirit henceTo realms above,Where it will flourish in the beamsOf everlasting love.
