ON PROTESTANT UNION IN NEW ENGLAND.
Down the rapid stream of time,
Lo! another year has passed;
Protestants from every clime,
Brethren, friends, awake at last!

Have we not a mystic tie
Strong as aught on earth can be,
Changeless as heaven's azure sky,
Lasting as eternity?

Rome's proud zealots boldly join,
Strong their union 'gainst the cause,—
