The kings of earth are drunken with her wine:
Partake not of her sins nor make her judgments thine.

IX.
Come forth! for thee the golden city waits,
Within whose guarded wall is found no night:
Of lucid pearl are all its shining gates;
Lo, its foundations garnished are and bright
With sardonyx and chalcedony white,
Topaz and crystal, jasper past compare,
Sapphire and sardius and chrysolite,
Jacinth and amethyst and beryl fair:
Who shall the length and breadth and height thereof declare?
