ON THE BLANK LEAF OF A PRAYER-BOOK.
O TAKE the book, and mayst thou turn
Each day to read, to kneel in prayer;
Its truths embrace, its precepts learn,
That thou, at last, a crown may wear.

A gift I could not bring to thee
More precious, on thy wedding-day,
Or one more truly dear to me,
Than I now on thine altar lay.
